Contribute your thoughts on polarisation and your role as a professional

Platform JEP and the NJi are receiving signals that youth professionals sometimes struggle with their role and position in situations involving polarisation. Think, for example, of the coronavirus measures and discussions surrounding refugee reception. You may encounter these tensions at school, in the community centre, in the neighbourhood or online.

Contribute your thoughts on polarisation and your role as a professional

To gain insight into professionals’ needs for knowledge and skills in the area of preventing polarisation and depolarisation, Platform JEP and the NJi are conducting an exploratory study. Through this exploration, we also want to map out how youth professionals can be supported in this area.

Exchanging experiences

Platform JEP and the NJi would like to speak with you during one of the panel discussions in the region:

Venlo: Wednesday 28 September, 10:00–12:00
Alkmaar: Wednesday 5 October, 9:30–11:30
Gorinchem: Monday 10 October, 13:00–15:00
Assen: Wednesday 12 October, 11:00–13:00

There is room for six to eight participants in each panel discussion. We hope to form as diverse a group as possible.

You will receive the exact location well in advance of the stated date. We will confirm your participation no later than two weeks before the panel discussion takes place.

Our Food Week

From 3 to 10 October 2026, it is Our Food Week. A great opportunity to focus with your class at primary school on where our food comes from, how it is made and why healthy and sustainable choices are important. Food education allows pupils not only to learn, but especially to experience. That is why various organisations are joining forces to support schools with inspiring activities, teaching materials and practical tools. Examples include the Mayors’ Breakfast, a free visit to a farm, or shopping vouchers for cooking in the classroom.
