She shows how schools and municipalities can positively influence these factors. How can you promote healthier and more sustainable eating behaviour among young people both inside and outside the school walls?

What else can you expect from the programme?
For a healthy future, it is important that young people can make healthy and sustainable choices everywhere. At school, but also in the world outside the school walls, where there are many temptations. Where do we stand now and what challenges await us? We will share scientific and practical insights and discuss them together.
In in-depth and practical knowledge sessions, we will address current issues and learn from other municipalities and schools. Topics include the route to the supermarket, gaining support, developing a vision and policy, and integrating health and sustainability into the school cafeteria.
Healthy School Cafeteria Day
The Netherlands Nutrition Centre is organising this conference as part of Healthy School Cafeteria Day. For 20 years, the Netherlands Nutrition Centre has been helping schools make their cafeterias healthier and more sustainable. Every year, on the third Thursday of March, the Netherlands Nutrition Centre gives this subject extra attention during ‘Healthy School Cafeteria Day’. Together with schools, GGD organisations and municipalities, the Netherlands Nutrition Centre is working towards a healthy future for young people and showing that being healthy is normal. Because only by working together can we really make an impact.
