What does the future of food education look like? Increasing attention is being paid to the food environment and to food education for young people. Yet there is still much to be gained. Time for inspiration and collaboration, including across borders!

On 19 November 2026, professionals, policymakers and researchers from the Netherlands and abroad will come together during the international Sapere conference Tasting the Future of Food Education in Wageningen.

Be inspired by Chloé Rutzerveld, discover how food education is being shaped in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and elsewhere, and engage in discussions during the interactive Future Food Tables.

In the afternoon, create your own programme from more than ten break-out sessions on current themes, such as:

  • Inclusive school meals and food education.
  • Learn from school meal systems in Finland and the United Kingdom.
  • Food education and health in out-of-school care.
  • Food education as a driver of local food policy.

This conference is organised by Sapere International, Wageningen University & Research (Steunpunt Smaaklessen & EU-Schoolfruit), Voedseleducatie Platform, Jong Leren Eten, JOGG - Gezonde Jeugd, Gezonde Toekomst and the Netherlands Nutrition Centre.
