With Carnival, you can’t make it too crazy, right? However, a teacher also serves as a role model during Carnival. A male colleague dressed up as a naked female body may raise questions among parents.
Clothing plays a major role during Carnival. The freedom that the choice of costume offers both students and staff can give rise to topics of discussion. Consider, for example, subjects such as prejudice, sexuality and crossing boundaries.
Perhaps clothing is a little more revealing than at an ordinary school party. What do teachers and students think about that? Is everything really allowed and possible during Carnival? And perhaps there is a student who dresses during Carnival in the way they would actually like to dress every day? These are all questions that you can make open to discussion within your team and with your students.
