Schoolyards of the Future

More concentration, more exercise, more enjoyment of learning and better protection against heavy rainfall and extreme drought: a green-blue schoolyard offers countless benefits. Thanks to the ‘Schoolyards of the Future’ scheme, 350 paved schoolyards in Brabant have already been transformed into natural outdoor spaces over the past six years. From 1 May 2024, schools with a good plan for construction, maintenance and integration into lessons could apply for a contribution of up to 70% of the costs, with a maximum of €10,000 per project. Due to the large number of applications, the scheme has now closed for this year. The subsidies were awarded based on the order in which the complete applications were received.

Applications possible again in 2025

From 1 May 2025 through 3 November 2025, schools in Brabant can apply for a subsidy again. The application period may also close earlier if the subsidy ceiling is reached. Applications can be submitted through the Cultural Fund Noord-Brabant. You can already view the scheme via www.brabant.nl.
