Lesson Idea | Physics Motion Activities for Second Grade
This activity, “Physics Motion Activities for Second Grade,” is a hands-on exploration of forces, where students observe how pushes and pulls affect motion through simple experiments (like stretching a rubber band attached to a toy truck or rolling a ball to push a truck). It’s ideal for classroom settings—especially for grade 2 students in small or whole-group formats—and takes about 45 minutes to complete. During the lesson, 2nd graders will learn key concepts like push, pull, force, gravity, direction, and inertia, and can record their observations (e.g., in journals) to reinforce their understanding.
